I want to make an assassin with a dervish as a secondary profession, but the guards wont let me go to the harbor citing not enough training or something like that..i've finished every quest i could find except for the 2ndary profession ones.

So is it possible to make this combo? Also the guards dont let me into either of the mission outposts.

More of a "Q&A" thing but anyways...

You can't continue on in the game without taking a secondary. You'll have to pick one of the core+factions seconndaries for now, so no derv. But later on once you get to senji's corner, you can change secondary freely. Master Togo in Linnok courtyard should give you the right quests and let you set your secondary, then you'll get the quest that takes you into the first mission.

Actually, you don't have to go to Senji's corner. All you need is having Nightfall and reach the Canthan mainland.

Go to Elona and follow the story. Once you finish the Hunted quest you'll "Ascend". This means you'll be able to change your secondary profession, and change it to Dervish at the Command Post in the newly adquired Sunspear Sanctuary.

i think senji's is faster, its only 2 quests 2 missions, not continent jump theeen what 4 quests 2 missions?

You can't ascend through Hunted! unless you are a Nightfall character.

pick something else atm
go through fac until you reach senji's corner
go to gtob and get changed to derv (i think senji can only do fac profs and core)

Ahh really? I sort of assumed you could since your canthan survivor can go ascend in Tyria instead (and cash in that meaty 50k xp bonus)

Well then yes, you'll have to get through Nahpui Quarter mission and ascend in Cantha first. Don't worry you don't generally -need- a secondary profession for an assassin, so you won't miss on much.

Depends on the purpose of the build. There are some killer A/D builds with [wounding strike] and [malicious strike].

if that's the case, you're better served simply rolling a pvp assassin. but yes, you'll need to reach senji's corner to get nightfall secondaries.

Yeah for skill unlocking I prefer to get balth faction from AB and RA, it's much faster.

but if you'd like to do it this way because you think it'd be more fun then by all means

You do not need to win to get points, but obviously winning will get you more.
For Balthazar faction to unlock skills I'd say go to Ra, Ab is more for Alliance faction than for Balth.

i've managed to get a 10 win streak on my Dervish, and unlock about half the skills i need for my A/D build

i must say RA is incredibly fun but i always get killed by N/Me or Me/N...they put so damn many DoTs on my derv i cant handle it
